"Hyaluronic acid" sounds a little scary to be injecting into our faces. Actually, though, it is naturally occurring in our skin and is a moisture-grabbing superstar. Unfortunately, by the time we're in our 30's our ability to produce this little slice of magic jelly decreases dramatically. Injectable fillers to the rescue!

What is hyaluronic acid? It is a glycosaminoglycan (say that 3 times fast), produced by our bodies and found in connective, skin, and neural tissues. This little superhero acts to cushion, insulate, lubricate, and protect wherever it is found. One gram (.035 ounce) of hyaluronic acid can hold up to 6 liters of water! This helps plump fine lines and wrinkles, boost elasticity, and simply make skin look and feel younger.
Unfortunately, our ability to produce hyaluronic acid as quickly as it is broken down declines with every birthday candle we add to our cakes. Add to it that by the time we're 45 we've lost about 3 teaspoons worth of volume in our mid-faces, and...hello nasolabial folds. Dang the luck! If only we could replace it somehow...
Wait a minute...
Enter Juvederm and Restylane. At Snake River Aesthetics and MediSpa, we offer both of these wonderful solutions to volume loss. These compounds are comprised of hyaluronic acid and work incredibly well to soften lines and wrinkles, taking years off appearances. The best part? You walk out of our office with results the same day.
We can use these fabulous fillers alone, or together with Botox or Dysport to freshen up faces. We also use filler as part of the Vampire Facelift procedure to "build a scaffolding" for new tissue growth. Talk about a superhero in a syringe!
Our team believes in promoting natural beauty, and subtly enhancing it. Filler isn't for everyone, but both men and women can benefit from it's magic when used correctly.

Another great thing about Restylane and Juvederm is that they are completely reversible. If a client is unhappy with results, hyaluronidase can be injected around the filler to dissolve it. Try doing that with a bad nose job.
